The Indulgence Package at Daylesford Day Spa

For my Christmas present last year, my best friend organised accommodation at Hepburn Springs, complete with afternoon High Tea for the two of us and we finally found a weekend that suited both of us to go down there. But... who can go to Hepburn Springs without indulging in massages, facials and mineral baths?! No one. Obviously! So we did our research and compared all the day spas that the beautiful countryside has to offer and found one that had incomparable value for money and a plethora of good reviews.

This was The Daylesford Day Spa. Located within five minutes of town, Daylesford Day Spa prides itself on its commitment to providing the best relaxation experiences, and the staff there, are ready and willing to do whatever you need to help make your experience even better. You are welcomed to your spa experience with warm robes, slippers and herbal tea and have time to sit and unwind for a little while in front of a warm fireplace, before you start your treatment.

Amber and I chose to have the Indulgence Package. It is three hours of total relaxation and rejuvenation and exactly what we needed in the chilliest part of the year after a lot of stressful weeks at work/ uni and family and relationships. This experience would be perfect for couples, best friends, mums and daughters or just yourself if you need to escape and relax.

Out of all the packages we looked at around the area, this one was the most inclusive and had the best reputation. For $600 for a couple or $315 for a single, you receive multiple high quality, complete treatments, rather than lots of "express" treatments which other spas promote to give you 'more experiences'; but I didn't like the idea of a 10 minute facial, a 20 minute body polish, and a 20 minute massage, if I was going to go on this trip, I wanted the experience to be worth it and have the full indulgence experience, and this package satisfied this to a tee.

You begin in a hydrotherapy mineral spa, where you spend 20- 30 minutes soaking in the mineral goodness, which detoxifies your skin and relaxes your muscles before you start the rest of the treatment.  You are in a dimly lit room, with scented candles, relaxing spa music, control of the spa functions of the bath, and warmed towels for when you get out.

Once you are nice and relaxed, you ensue a body polish, with high quality, natural and locally sourced products. This process removes dead skin cells, for brighter, rejuvenated skin, and promotes healthy skin renewal. After this, you are treated to a full-body aromatherapy massage, and moisture is restored to your skin with a body custard of your choice (the vanilla scent smells delicious!).

Finally you have a facial and scalp massage, accompanied by a personally designed facial treatment which your therapist will create based on your foretold skin concerns, and what she thinks will be most beneficial for your treatment.
At the end, you are not rushed to get out because your time is up like a lot of spas, the Daylesford Day Spa continues aiming to achieve its goal of creating the MOST relaxing experience right through to when you go home. You can relax in front of the fire again, drink more herbal tea or water until you feel ready to face the real world again. Your therapist will also have created a list of products she used during your treatment or recommends for future self care. You are not pressured into buying the products, they are merely suggestions that your therapist recommends based on your skin analysis.

I had such an amazing time at the Daylesford Day Spa and I highly recommend this treatment, to anyone who wants to relax. Check out their Special Offers of the month if you are looking at going!
